The emergency services had to fight for hours on the Innkreutobahn (an 8) in Pichl near Wels in the night of Saturday. A saddle tractor loaded with plastic hoses was set out for fire. The Slovenian steering wheel (71) was able to save itself with a few possessions from the cabin, only a skeleton remained from the vehicle.
It was on Friday evening around 10:20 am when the steering wheel of the Slovenian saddle tractor suddenly smoked in the Achterste View Spiegel on the highway of Innkreis in the travel direction. The 71-year-old drove to the next bay in Pichl near Wels and stopped his vehicle.
When he saw that the twin tires on the second axis in the area of the passenger side were already on fire, he gave other road users. Together with the First Aiders, he desperately tried to connect the trailer trailer of the towing vehicle.
First aids brought themselves to safety
Due to the powerful flames in the area of the trailer support, this company had to be left in vain. Everyone then quickly brought themselves to safety. The emergency services were warned.
“We were on the way home of a fire brigade exercise in Kema Innbach and drove directly to the Vuurstad,” says Michael Kraxberger (34), commander of FF Pichl. The alarm was “Brand Truck”, but when the firefighters arrived on the site, they stood in front of a huge sea of fire.
“We have assured that there are no more people in the vehicle. Then I nominated the big tavern of Wels, at the same time a fire water vest was laid from the city center from Pichl to the highway,” said the head of the operations.
O’clock
The A 8 was closed in the Pichl highway driveway. Days that already traveled in the affected section had to wait almost two hours until they were led past the scene of the accident.
A total of six fire brigades were in use – with heavy respiratory protection, the extinguishing was started. Because plastic hoses were kept in the tractor tractor, foam was initially an attempt to get the flames under control. That was not easy.
Only skeleton remained
However, it was successful to control the fire. There was only a skip from the saddle tractor. Kraxberger: “Only after our operating elements with the thermal image camera confirmed that no further flare was feared, the wreck was dragged.”
