The capital Copenhagen of Denmark will introduce a reward system for environmentally conscious holidaymakers in the summer. For example, if you travel to Copenhagen, collect waste or stay more than four days, you will receive discounts.
90 Settings in the Danish capital and the surrounding area participate, including countless museums and the Kophill skillaats built on the roof of a waste incineration installation. The environmentally conscious tourists receive free rental bikes, yoga courses or discounted access to museums.
The BuyPay initiative starts on June 17 and runs for nine weeks. The reward system was already tested last year. “500 people delved into the range to go for an hour of free boat and collect waste from the port waters,” said the manager of a rental rental company of Copenhagen.
In the previous year, a total of 75,000 tourists participated in the test run. At that time, the number of bicycle rental rose by 29 percent, a few tons of waste were collected and almost all participants (98 percent) wanted to recommend the idea, according to their own statement.
