Three people died in a violent storm in the south of France.
Two people were discovered in Le Lavandou, who is located on the Mediterranean coast between Toulon and Saint-Tropez, the local prefecture said. Another person was found dead in the somewhat further north of Vidauban. A good 300 firefighters have service.
Le Lavandou and other places in the southeastern Ministry of Var were previously hit by thunderstorms and heavy rainfall. Various streets were blocked due to flooding. The rivers Môle and Giscle threatened to cross, said it in the morning. Hundreds of households were cut off from electricity. Like many areas on the French Mediterranean coast and on the Atlantic Ocean in the summer, the VAR department is a popular holiday region.
Even on Monday evening, parts of the Southwest France were also struck by storms. Due to flooding, people were evacuated from a train that stopped at Tonneins in the late evening, as French media reported. On the route between Bordeaux and Toulouse, the train traffic was partially interrupted the next day.
