Drivers lost more than an hour before the construction site on the A10 in Salzburg on Wednesday. Golling Mayor is already longing for the end of the work, because there were again delays from the highway. And it’s getting worse …
On Wednesday, as reported, there was the expected traffic jam on the Tauern highway. The alternative traffic through the places was also partly strong.
“We look forward to the day on which the construction site is over,” says Golling Mayor Martin Dietrich (Spö). The end should be on June 26. “On June 27 we are celebrating a festival in the village and all of Salzburg are invited,” laughs the local chef.
On Wednesday the municipal roads were closed in Golling for the passage – as in Kuchl. Mayor Thomas Freylinger (ÖVP) fears the worst for the Whitsun weekend. “This is the strongest travel weekend. I hope nothing will happen,” he says.
In Germany, the Pentecost holidays last two weeks, so many drive south. “We expect traffic jams from Wednesday afternoon and then on the following days,” said Freylinger.
