In South Tyrol, a local politician from the right-wing government party Fratelli d’Italia (Brothers of Italy) caused the outrage of Joseph Goebbel with a reference to the Nazi propaganda minister. In his contribution, he criticized a rainbow flag for a technology park – and continued to cross the goal.
Municipal councilor Diego Salvadori of the capital Bozen wrote on his Facebook page about the photo of a rainbow flag in Italian: “The flag does not follow the people, but people have to follow the flag. Joseph Goebbels, Propaganda Minister of the Third Reich.”
The rainbow flag shown, which is also a symbol of the queer community, currently depends on a technology park in Bolzano, which does not like Salvadori. He later extinguished his entry. According to a report from the online portal “Salto”, the South Tyrolean vice president Marco Galateo (also Fratelli) had previously posted with such a fact.
Vice -head of the government apologizes with “typing errors”
The usually German -speaking autonomous province of the party borders has now been criticized in North -Italy. Prime Minister Arno Kompatscher of the conservative SVP asked his vice to distance themselves from the contribution.
The greens spoke about the glorification of national socialism. Shortly thereafter Galateo apologized on behalf of his party. He explained that he himself made the contribution with a similar sign with a “typo”. Salvadori apologized for an “inappropriate quote”.
Mayor goes to
The mayor, Claudio Corrarati, also condemned the placement of Salvadori in a broadcast “with all the sharpness”. He ordered him “for an urgent statement” in his office and asked to remove the position. He stated that there could be “no place” in the city council for “attitudes that even remotely remember the ideals of national socialism,” said the politician of a center-right alliance.
In Zuid -Tirol, the South Tyrolean’s Party (SVP), which has been ruling for decades, is founded as a collective party since the state elections in 2023 in 2023 with the South Tyrolean Freedom, the Fratelli d’Italia, Lega and La Civica. In Rome, Fratelli chairman Giorgia Meloni has since 2022 an alliance of three rights and conservative parties. The “Brothers of Italy” have their origins in the post -fascist movement.
