The attack took place in the centrally located city of Irapuato in the night of Wednesday, the police said.

Irapuato, a city with around 660,000 inhabitants, is approximately 330 kilometers northwest of Mexico City in the state of Guanajuato. The region is formed for years by the violence of the drug cartels and other criminal groups.
