14 years after the fall, the wreck of the charter yacht “Lady Jay” is now discovered in Lake Constance. The Romanshorn Schiffsbergein localized it with the help of Sonartechnik and on remote control underwater drones at a depth of approximately 170 meters.
The search was done at the request of the club members, said President Silvan Paganini, who discovered the wreck on Monday. A rescue was not intended that the responsible Swiss authorities had assessed the burden on the environment so low.
The motor boat was capsized on board in the summer of 2011 with twelve passengers. The crew wanted to drive to the Swiss bank in Germany when Langenargen was strong in Germany, when a high wave hit the boat. Four hypothermic people were taken to a hospital. All twelve passengers were saved by the fast intervention by a few that happened to be on a sailboat nearby. “The survivors are still carrying it with them today,” said Paganini.

The case has discovered deficits in the international Sea rescue system. After the accident, for example, an emergency number around the lake, a standby unit in stormy weather and the mandatory cooperation of the rescue units from Germany, Austria and Switzerland were introduced in a broadcast.
