Emergency surgery for animals – duck saved with a huge abscess on the mouth

Date:

Thanks to attentive fellow people, a duckling could be saved on Lake Ratzersdorfer near St. Pölten (Lower Austria). In the Krems Animal Protection House, the animal is recovering from the operation and it can soon return to nature. A huge abscess grew in his mouth.

They still exist, the good news and good people who don’t look away. Just like the lady, who observed a duck on Lake Ratzersdorfer in St. Pölten a few days ago, whose mouth was distorted by a huge abscess. She took a picture of the poor young animal and put it on Facebook with the call: “Hello everyone, please, someone can help this poor animal?”

Not easy salvation
And help came quickly. However, this was not as easy as Doris Horvath from the water that St. Pölten Rescue says: “My colleague and I drove out the water with Standuppaddles and Kescher to catch the animal.” However, the small duck fought a bit. “And on the part of the mother’s duck there was also a wild creation,” said Horvath.

The animal can finally be caught. “Fortunately, because this distortion would probably have been starving quickly,” Horvath is convinced.

A few days in the hiding place
The Krems Animal Shelter successfully ensured the operation. The Watervogel stays there for a few days. It will then be opened at the Natuurzorgstation in Gföhl.

“Only when the young animal is large enough will it be released again,” explains the boss Karin Brunner. Unfortunately no longer see her family at Ratzersdorfer. “Because unfortunately the duckling died for the mother.”
