In Pinkafeld, Neudörfl and Zillingtal in Burgenland there were several fire brigade missions on Sunday after the serious rains.
The storm was short – but it was all the more intense: in Neudörfl there was a hail and large rainy quantities alongside windfalls on Sunday afternoon. The local fire brigade had to go through 22 missions within four hours. They were supported by the colleagues of Sigleß. The emergency services were mainly concerned with the elimination of storm damage, flooded roads and water breakdown in cellars. In some houses the water was up to one meter high.
Fire Brigade spoke about “Heikler Situation” in Zillingtal
The situation in the Zillingtal was particularly tense. Within a few minutes, 40 liters of rain pounded out of the air per square meter. According to the fire brigade, the situation was “delicate”- if the storm had only been a few minutes longer, massive floods would probably not have appeared.
In the early evening the storm met the Südburgenland. Heavy rain, hail and strong gusts of wind caused various missions throughout the city area of Pinklaeld. Gerbergasse, Bandgasse, Lehargasse, ing. Julius-Rraab-Straße, the Staatsweg in the direction of Oberschützen and De Lampleld were particularly affected.
Fallen trees blocked streets, damaged high -voltage lines and blocked vehicles. The City Fire Brigade was used for hours with 27 emergency services. They were supported by the Florianis of Riedlingsdorf.
