A jump was probably life-saving. In Tragwein, a combine hit six “somersaults” – the farmer (56) managed to save himself.
The 56-year-old farmer from Tragwein was busy threshing in his yard. While working with the combine on a sloping field around 5:40 PM, the working machine tipped sideways.
The Mühlviertler was able to jump off during the first rollover. The combine overturned a total of six times over an adjacent steep meadow, where it finally landed with the wheels up.
The badly injured farmer was flown by rescue helicopter to Kepler University Hospital. The fire brigade was able to set up and tow the completely demolished combine harvester.
