Another fire alarm on the Italian Adriatic: Monday the forest fire between Lignano and Bibione flared up again in our neighboring town. Thick clouds of smoke were visible from afar.
On Monday, new photos of a forest fire made the rounds on social networks. In the pine forests between Lignano and Bibione, the forest fire from Friday seems to have flared up again.
The smoke columns were clearly visible from the bathing beaches in the afternoon.
Only on Friday did a forest fire in the popular seaside resort call in the emergency services. Four fires were fought by the emergency services. A fire fighting helicopter was also deployed. The area had to be cordoned off just to be safe. Concerned swimmers had fled into the sea. Due to the prolonged drought, spontaneous combustion was suspected to be the cause.
