In neighboring Slovenia you can refuel cheaper from Tuesday. At gas stations along the highway, the regulated prices will be more than ten cents lower. A liter of normal petrol costs 1.62 euros – that is 10.3 cents less than before -, diesel will be 10.8 cents cheaper to 1.70 euros per liter, according to the Ministry of Economic Affairs.
The new regulated prices are valid until August 1. Under the current pricing model, fuel prices outside the motorway network are determined every two weeks, depending on world market prices and the euro-dollar exchange rate. In addition, the Slovenian government has set dealers’ margins and waived eco-taxes.
At the gas stations along the highway, operators can set prices freely on the market. According to the website “goriva.si”, a liter of diesel cost 1,975 euros on Monday at the oil company Petrol and 1,984 euros at the petrol stations of the Slovenian OMV subsidiary. The price for normal petrol is 1.901 euros per liter for petrol and 1.912 euros for OMV.
