The girl had agreed to meet her future tormentor, a refugee from Afghanistan, in the palace garden of Neustrelitz in January. The young lad pretended to meet the 11-year-old, but jumped on her instead.
Mild due to young age
Because the Afghan has no documents, his age has been estimated by experts, the newspaper “Bild” reports. Since he was only supposed to be 16 years old, the verdict was mild.
“In the age structure, this mild judgment is not unusual. In the case of juvenile offenders, the focus is on the idea of education,” lawyer Burkhard Benecken told the German newspaper.
