The body of a 41-year-old was discovered Monday in Leibnitz in southern Styria. The suspect is Mohammad Chamseddin, the victim’s son. The Syrian (24) is known to the police and is considered “ready to use force”.
“In connection with the ongoing investigation into the suspicion of murder, the Graz prosecutor’s office has now ordered a public house search,” the police said. A photo of Mohammad Chamseddin was released. There is a European arrest warrant for the 24-year-old.
Mohammad Chamseddin lived with his mother in the apartment in Leibnitz where the body was found. He was in close contact with the family, police said. However, since the light was found, there has been no trace of the 24-year-old. Most recently, he may have resided in Graz.
Suspect known to police and ‘ready to use force’
The suspect was born on January 1, 1998 in Syria. He is already known to the police in Austria. The mugshot is from an earlier study in 2020.
The 24-year-old is 1.78 meters tall, has brown eyes and recently had dark short hair. According to the latest findings, the beard visible in the published photos has already been shaved or trimmed into a three-day beard.

According to the police report, the fugitive is described as “quite violent”. There is currently no concrete evidence of armament or a possible escape vehicle. The police warned that you should not speak to the suspect if you encounter him, but immediately inform the emergency services.
