The Vienna Association “Natuleya” gives a young Zambian life perspective thanks to donations. He lost his leg after a snake bite.
A bite from a venomous puff adder while working on the land changed everything in the young life of Costavius Ngosa, 27, from Chingombe in central Zambia on the African continent. Since the nearest hospital is more than 100 kilometers from his village and he was unable to receive emergency medical care, the only solution was amputation of his lower leg.
collected donations
Now there was help in the tragic story. The Vienna Association “Natuleya” has successfully collected donations for a prosthetic leg for the young man.
Municipal councilor Heidi Folge of GroenLinks used the 63 (!) days that there was no meeting to hand over the donations in person. “Now at least the young man can lead a half normal life again,” says the Donaustadterin, who is now helping to set up a solar system for the village school.
