A German (30) in Jenbach in the Tyrolean district of Schwaz ‘tanked up’ too much before he started the journey on Thursday. The result: the man skidded his car and crashed into a stone wall. A 36-year-old oncoming car was lucky.
The accident happened just after 5 p.m. The 30-year-old drove the car south on Kasbergerstrasse in Jenbach. “For unknown reasons, he hit the guardrail and skidded,” police said.
The German then crashed head-on into a stone wall. Fortunately, an oncoming 36-year-old motorist was able to swerve.
Alcohol test positive
The 30-year-old suffered injuries in the crash and had to be taken to Schwaz hospital. The vehicle was a total loss. An alcohol test on the German was positive.
