“A lot of money for me” – minimum pensioner has to pay rehabilitation deductible

Date:

Angela W. (66) from Lambach in Upper Austria has been suffering from very painful neurodermatitis for years. For rehabilitation, she has to pay a deductible of just over 190 euros – a lot of money for her.

Due to her illness, W. had to give up her job as a secretary, which she had enjoyed early on. “The disease flare-ups got so severe that my hands were bleeding in the office — I couldn’t write anymore,” she says. She was forced to apply for an invalidity pension. As a result, she was also unable to accrue the necessary years of service, a circumstance that negatively affected her pension income. “I only get 923.02 euros gross – that is 875 euros net,” confirms W.

Due to the cortisone and many tablets, she now also suffers from too high a sugar level. The pension insurance company granted her 22 days of rehabilitation in Hallein from August 10. However, her happiness is overshadowed by the fact that, according to the approval letter, she has to pay a deductible of 190.89 euros.

“A lot of people don’t know that”
“I did not expect that, because it says on the internet that such a pension only applies from a gross pension of 1030.49”, says W. When she asked the pension fund and AK, she found out that her husband’s pension also took into account kept with it. “A lot of people probably don’t know that. I think that’s unfair – because 190 euros means a lot of money to me.”
