Only the death of the pilot and another passenger in a sports plane could be salvaged tonight. The pilot made an emergency call in the afternoon in the Styrian Wechsel and then remained unreachable. Task forces searched for the plane from the air and found it in a wooded area that was difficult to access. There was no more help for the prisoners.
More details about where the occupants came from and the cause of the crash are not yet known, but so much: The pilot of the sports plane that was in the air over the Hartberg-Fürstenfeld district made an emergency call in the afternoon. Subsequent attempts to reach him were unsuccessful.

Search flights were conducted over the inaccessible forest area with helicopters from the Federal Ministry of the Interior. Rescuers were finally able to locate the plane in rough terrain near Vorau.
