When it is warm, bath seals also appear. The “Krone” has three tips for a carefree swimming holiday.
With the whole city rushing back to the pools or cooling off by the water, it’s high season for thieves too. As a current study of 1000 people by the Road Safety Council (KfV) shows, every sixth person has already been robbed in a seaside resort in the course of their life.
In any case, there is plenty of loot for thieves, because smartphones, cash, house or car keys are our constant companions, even when we are at the beach. To make sure you don’t wake up rough after splashing around, here are three valuable tips:
- Only take what you really need. It is better to leave expensive valuables, jewelry and large sums of money at home.
- Use existing lockers or lockable cabinets. It is best to always wear the key on your body.
- Be careful! If people move from berth to berth and look under blankets and towels, you should immediately inform the lifeguard or the police.
Many swimmers also keep valuables in the car. Note: Vehicles are not safes. Valuables left behind also increase the risk of burglary.
