A ride on the “Alpine Coaster” ended Saturday for a 38-year-old German in the intensive care unit of the state hospital Feldkirch. At the end of the fun sports hall in Montafon in Vorarlberg, which resembled a summer toboggan run, the man was hit so hard by a car following that he suffered serious internal injuries.
Saturday around 4.45 pm a group of 14 men from Latschau left for Vandans on the Alpine Coaster Golm. Everyone used their own roller coaster (car) and, according to the police, was sent onto the track by the staff at the start with an associated safety distance.
At the finish, however, the group’s roller coasters reversed on the route. Due to this circumstance, it is possible that two consecutive roller coasters have touched the last, standing roller coaster in succession. The 38-year-old German suffered serious internal injuries as a result of the two violent collisions on the last stationary roller coaster.
The man had to be taken to Feldkirch State Hospital and treated in intensive care there. The other two people suffered bruises and abrasions.
