A 48-year-old heavily intoxicated man steered his car into the oncoming lane – with fatal consequences. He caused two accidents: the first driver managed to dodge the net, the second landed head-on on his vehicle. She lost her life in the process.
A tragic alcohol accident on Saturday night that killed a 56-year-old: Shortly before 10 p.m., the car of a 48-year-old man from the Leibnitz district entered the oncoming lane on the L602 in Jöss (Leibnitz district). An oncoming 44-year-old was lucky and was able to avoid it – she only hit a road pin and was unharmed.
Car behind could not dodge
The 56-year-old who followed, also from the Leibnitz district, could no longer avoid it and collided head-on with the alcohol driver’s car and was thrown from the car.
Rescuers resuscitated the woman, but after 30 minutes she died at the accident site. The 48-year-old suffered minor injuries, the alcohol test showed values of almost two per thousand.
