A young trio played a “cat-and-mouse game” with the police in the Tyrolean Unterland on Saturday night. The driver (18) first ignored the stop sign and drove away. The suspect and his two companions were then involved in a hit-and-run accident. Eventually, the fugitives hid in a wooded area, but were caught there.
Brixlegg in the Kufstein district, shortly before 9 p.m.: A car was attacked by police officers during routine speed checks. But the driver of the car did not stop despite clear signs to stop. On the contrary: he hit the gas and drove off in the direction of Wörgl.
Crashed into a concrete barrier
Just a few minutes later, the same patrol was called up for a hit-and-run accident in Brixlegg. The previously fleeing driver had crashed into a concrete crash barrier, but there was no trace of him and his two companions at first.
However, the escape was short-lived: “During a house search, three suspects were found shortly afterwards in an adjacent forest area,” the researchers say. One of them – an 18-year-old local man – admitted to driving the car.
Driver does not have a driver’s license
The young suspect does not have a driver’s license and was also slightly under the influence of alcohol. All three occupants were uninjured in the accident. Appropriate advertisements will follow.
