The Official Gazette of the Basque Country will publish tomorrow the call for a new selective process to enter the fire prevention and extinguishing services of the provincial councils of Álava and Gipuzkoa with 46 vacancies for the territory of Álava and 68 for Gipuzkoa.

The Security Department has reported that this is the first time the Basque Academy of Police and Emergencies makes a united competition opposition to occupy positions as firefighters in various institutions in Euskadi, positions that can also be expanded if the institutions concerned so decide.

The registration period opens on September 7. To be eligible for a place it is mandatory to be at least 16 years old and not to have reached the mandatory retirement age; be in possession of a C + E driving license and all the points awarded and meet the requirements regarding the language profile and educational qualification (Graduation in Compulsory Secondary Education, School Diploma, First Degree Vocational Training or equivalent qualification).

In addition, applicants must not have any illness listed in the medical exclusion table.

There will be tests of three kinds: knowledge (2 test-like exercises), psychotechnical (reasoning, mechanical, spatial, verbal and personality evaluation skills) and physical aptitude. They are all mandatory and eliminatory.

People who pass this OPE, but do not get a place, will be included in the temporary labor exchange of the Basque Academy of Police and Emergency Situations to cover vacancies and replacements in the Basque fire prevention and extinguishing services of the institutions included in the call.
