On Monday afternoon, a fatal accident took place in a parking lot in Salzburger Pongau. A woman was run over by her own car.
A German couple was walking in the village of Mühlbach am Hochkönig when they stopped in a parking lot. The 78-year-old woman went to the trunk. The man tried to turn off the engine through the open window. Then it happened: the vehicle suddenly started to roll backwards and hit the woman.
The holidaymaker was first dragged six meters before being run over by the car. Despite several attempts at resuscitation, the German died at the scene of the accident.
The helpers of the voluntary fire brigade Mühlbach and the voluntary fire brigade Dienten were on site with a total of seven vehicles. An ambulance and a rescue helicopter were also present.
