After the crash of a small plane that killed two people on Saturday, the investigation into the cause of the accident is still in full swing. The results of the autopsy are now available.

The autopsy ordered by the public prosecutor’s office in Graz showed that the two Eastern Styrians died at the age of 56 (pilot) and 67 (passenger) as a result of serious injuries after the crash. Forensic doctors have found no indications of a possible health disorder in the run-up to or immediately before the accident. The prosecutor’s office has now released the two bodies for burial.

Meanwhile, the aviation expert is investigating the exact cause of the accident. During the first inspection of the wreckage, soot and smoke deposits were already found in the engine compartment of the two-seat ultralight aircraft. The pilot (56) had also mentioned smoke in the cockpit during the radio emergency call. Detailed examinations of the machine, which has already been recovered on site, are intended to clarify the exact cause of the accident. These investigations are expected to take several weeks.

The soil at the crash site, contaminated with about 50 to 55 liters of fuel, has already been professionally removed and removed. There was no major environmental damage.
