A guided zipline hike and adventure experience has come to an end for three teenagers and a young man with injuries, some seriously. Two of the victims of the accident flew to Wels and Linz with the rescue helicopter.
The alpine accident happened on a zipline, a so-called Flying Fox, on the Hexenkessel via ferrata in Rosenau on the Hengstpass. The exact course of the accident is still unclear, but apparently the 25-year-old had collided with a wooden bridge.
“We arrived almost simultaneously with the rescue helicopter ‘Martin 3’. Then came the ‘C 10’. The flight emergency doctor, an emergency doctor from our local office and a doctor who happened to be present took over the emergency room,” said Thomas Riesenhuber of the Windischgarsten Mountain Rescue Service, which was in action with 11 helpers.
The 25-year-old was seriously injured and was taken to the trauma room in the MedCampus III liner. A girl who was also seriously injured was taken to the hospital in Wels and two slightly injured youths were transported to the Kirchdorf clinic.
