Tragic traffic accident late Friday evening in the Tyrolean Oberland: In Haiming (Imst district), a fatal collision has occurred between two cars. A Tyrolean (22) was trapped in the wreckage – she succumbed to her serious injuries at the scene of the accident. It is unclear who was driving the second car – blood samples from the two occupants (aged 28 and 34) were secured. Maybe alcohol was involved!
The terrible accident happened shortly before 10.30 pm: the 22-year-old resident was driving her car on the B171 in the vicinity of Ötztal Achbrücke when the car with the two men approached her.
Driver trapped in wreckage
For reasons that have not yet been clarified, a head-on collision has suddenly occurred. While the injured men were able to get out of their vehicle on their own, the 22-year-old woman was trapped in her car.
The injuries were too serious – unfortunately all help came too late for the young locals. “She died at the scene of the accident,” police said.
Blood samples secured, autopsy ordered
However, the two injured were taken to Zams Hospital by ambulance. It is still unclear which of the men was driving the accident vehicle. Apparently alcohol was involved. In any case, blood samples from the 28- and 34-year-olds have been secured.
Both cars were also seized. An autopsy of the 22-year-old victim was ordered.
