In Linz, a police officer followed a suspect with a “seized” e-scooter. The “Krone” spoke to the official.
Cars, motorcycles, bicycles or on foot – the police have already chased many suspects. However, no one has ever sat on an e-scooter. So far: David M. (26) from PI Kaarstraße premiered.
Fled after parking damage
“We saw a driver of a small truck who had parked quickly. Then we saw that he had damaged another car. We asked the driver to get out. At that moment he fled,” says the police officer. David M. immediately in pursuit.
Scooter borrowed from passersby
“I saw a man on an e-scooter at a zebra crossing. I yelled ‘stop, police’ and asked the man to give me the scooter,” says David M. He then gave chase to the fleeing man with the impounded vehicle.

After repeated requests to stop, the 22-year-old finally pulled up in a courtyard on Strabergerstrasse. He said he panicked when he saw the officers. He was reported for hit and run. And the Scot? “The owner waited by the patrol car and got the device back,” smiles M.
