The Food Safety and Food Agency (AESAN) has issued a warning on “Preparation, packaging and Hidden distributionFrom various “divine olive” and “extra virgin” oils, which, in fact, is not the case. Far from being a manufacturing error, AESAN emphasizes that this is fraud.
“The start of operations is part of an anti-fraud operation to sell olive oil, during which the oil obtained from the analysis of official samples is analyzed. It was not olive oilResume from the organization.
According to their managed data, these oils can be “Seed vegetables” or a mixture thereof. It also identified “consumer health risks due to oil marketing, which is considered dangerous because it comes from undercover operators and due to a lack of reliable traceability.”
Scam oils are:
- WAFA VIRGIN Olive oil (2 liter container)
- MAAKOUL Olive Oil (Volume not specified)
- RIAD AL ANDALUS VIRGIN Olive oil (1 liter container)
- MAYSAE (product name is not indicated, 1 liter container)
- VIRGIN olive oil (without commercial brand, 5 liter container)
- LA NORIA EXTRA VIRGIN Olive oil (5 liter container)
- ZANNOUTI EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL 31 31 (1 liter containers)
- VIRGIN Olive oil “VIRGEN DE LA SALUD” (0.5 l, 1 l, 2 l and 5 l container)
- EXTRA VIRGIN Olive oil “VIRGEN DE LA SALUD” (0.5 l container)
- RAHOUYI EXTRA VIRGIN Olive oil (2 liter container)
They do not specify the serial number or packaging format from AESAN, as they believe that “all batches and packaging formats of these products will be involved” in this fraud.
The fraud was reported to the Murcia Autonomous Community through the Coordinated Rapid tion Exchange System (SCIRI), where much of the spread took place. Nonetheless, as well These oils are found in Catalonia, the Basque Country and the Valencian CommunityIn addition, AESAN does not rule out “spreading to other autonomous communities.”
The agency recommends that people who own these products “refrain from consuming them and return them to the point of sale.”
