Elkarrekin Podemos-IU proposes energy and income conservation pacts to Urkullu

Elkarrekin Podemos-IU proposed the lehendakari, Inigo Urkulluargue for a series of agreements, such as the energy agreement to reduce electricity costs and income agreements to guarantee the purchasing power of wages.

The other major pact proposed by the coalition is that of income, which would be adopted at the table of social dialogue, with a commitment to update salaries, “both in the public sector and for private agreements to maintain the power of the working class.

Elkarrekin Podemos-IU raised with the Lehendakari the transformation of the Basque Finance Institute into a “public bank” enabling “the economic development” of the Basque Country “on the basis of social interest” and the promotion of a direct aid fund for SMEs and a strategic investment plan, which would be financed with the remaining treasury of the Basque government of almost 1,900 million euros .

Within the social pact proposed by this group, expanding stock of public social rental housing to meet the needs of refugees, groups at risk or in a situation of exclusion, victims of sexist violence and other coexistence units with housing needs.

The Basque Government is also requested to: supplement pensions under 1,000 euros with an additional 250 euros, lower the minimum age to access RGIE from 23 to 18 years, increase the basic amount of this benefit and of the additional housing allowance.
