The Wels prosecutor’s office on Thursday resumed the investigation into the authors of the death threats on social media in the Lisa-Maria Kellermayr case. “Domestic jurisdiction” has been restored, Chief Prosecutor Christian Hubmer confirms. They are now cooperating with the new German prosecution authorities.
After the crime scene and the suspects are in Germany, territorial jurisdiction was originally no longer given. That is why the investigations were assigned to Berlin and Munich.
With the suicide of the 36-year-old general practitioner in Upper Austria, responsibilities have changed, which is why the Wels Public Prosecutor’s Office has resumed investigations against suspects known by name since Thursday, Hubmer said.
They had already “collected the current state of the process” from Germany. In Munich, the attorney general’s office has now addressed the case, which is responsible for countering extremism.
