As confirmed by the Azpeitia City Council, the company serving irons van Eibar plans to open a recycling plant in the pavilion where the Corrugados company used to beoutside the city center.
This new factory would base its activity on the treatment and recycling of iron and steel, would occupy 150,000 square meters and would generate about 50-70 jobs.
The factory would open at the Trukutxo Pavilionthat is, on the edge, instead of at the Amue facilitylocation that caused controversy between EH Bildu and PNV.
For the mayor of Azpeitia, Nagore Alkorta, the materialization of the project would be “good news”. As he explained in Euskadi Irratia, this Thursday he had the opportunity to speak with the Eibar company Hierros Servando, after contacting the city council.
“It’s good news to hear about this opportunity to set up a new industrial activity in Azpeitia,” Alkorta said. He added that “from the beginning we defended that industrial activity should be located in Trukutxo, and the Urban Organization Plan collected in this waySo in that respect it’s good news.”
