Caught by train – parents had to watch their daughter (16) die

Date:

A 16-year-old moped driver has died in an accident in Upper Austria. The young girl was run over by the train at the level crossing in Waizenkirchen. The resuscitation was not successful. Her parents had to witness the tragedy at the scene of the accident.

Horrible – no other word comes to mind about the tragedy in Waizenkirchen. On Friday, 16-year-old Lilien-Sophie K. drove home to the village of Ritzing after her summer job. Then the girl wanted to take her Vespa to the outdoor pool in Prambachkirchen to cool off – but she never got there. At about 4:29 PM, as so often happens, Lilien crossed the unrestricted level crossing in neighboring Manzing. But the typical routine of the locals was her downfall:

The girl apparently ignored the stop sign while simultaneously overlooking the Linzer Lokalbahn train coming from the left. Lilien was dragged along by the wagon on her scooter for twenty meters and then lay seriously injured next to the track.

Parents for first responders at the scene of an accident
The parents must have noticed the terrible accident, according to eyewitnesses they immediately rushed 1.1 kilometers away to the scene of the accident and apparently they were already there for the rescue. But they couldn’t help their dying daughter any more than the professionals. The Red Cross sent three ambulances, an ambulance and a helicopter. But Lilien had suffered too serious injuries. The resuscitation was not successful.
