A sensational accident happened late in the evening on Thursday in the center of the Vorarlberg tourist municipality of Schruns. A man had collided with the display of the “Schuhhaus Sander” with his Ford Kuga. As it soon became apparent, a health issue was responsible for the incident.
The driver of the Ford Kuga earlier drove towards the city center on Batloggstrasse. Near the Sutterlütty supermarket, he hit another car, which then turned 180 degrees. However, the man, who was later found to be hypoglycemic, continued his journey.
In the center of Schruns, he then completely lost consciousness and crashed into the window of the “Schuhhaus Sander”, causing massive damage to his Ford and damage to the point of sale. The immediately alerted rescuers took care of the accident victim, the Schrunser fire brigade arrived with 32 Florianis to bind off leaking fluids and prepare the badly damaged car for transport.
