After the devastating storm of Friday evening in the Pinzgau in Salzburg, the first evacuations were carried out on Saturday morning. 230 people were trapped.
Nine guests from the Neue Fürther Hütte at the end of the Hollersbachtal were able to be flown out by helicopter on Saturday morning. At least all the other huts cut off by the mudslides were able to repair footpaths on Saturday.
In total, some 230 people were trapped in mountain huts and inns after the storms. All those affected were safe, there was always telephone contact.
The fire brigade also had to move to the Gasteinertal due to the thunderstorm of Friday evening. A mudslide had displaced the B167, the railway had to be closed for a short time after the Gasteiner Ache and the Bernkogelbach overflowed their banks. The fire brigade also had to pump out several cellars.
