The car of a Feldkirchner caught fire on Saturday evening while driving. Thanks to an attentive man from Klagenfurt, no one was injured.
“On the night of Sunday, we received a desperate emergency call from a vehicle owner whose car caught fire,” say comrades from the Klagenfurt Fire Department. At around midnight, a 66-year-old from Feldkirchner was on the ramp to Klagenfurt (B70c) on his way to the city when he was stopped by another motorist. “The 43-year-old from Klagenfurt saw heavy smoke rising from the car of the Feldkirchner,” police said.
The Feldkirchner stopped at the park-and-ride areas and was able to get out of the car unharmed before it burst into flames and immediately began to burn heavily. “The fire, which broke out for unknown reasons, was quickly extinguished with heavy respiratory protection and a rapid attack,” said the Klagenfurt professional fire brigade.
The vehicle was badly damaged and had to be towed.
