First, a young woman from the Carinthian district of Hermagor was involved in an accident with her mother’s car in Italy, causing material damage, after which the 20-year-old became a car thief. A complaint has been filed against her at the public prosecutor’s office in Klagenfurt.
The young woman’s mother had reported it to the police after she parked the strange car with Italian number plates in front of her house. When officers began the investigation, they soon discovered that the car had been reported stolen in Tarvisio.
Broken car left behind
The woman’s daughter quickly admitted to the police that she had started the car in front of the train station in Tarvisio because she had previously caused an accident with her mother’s car with material damage. She had left the broken car and discovered an unlocked car near the train station in Tarvisio, which also contained the key.
She got into the car and drove back to Hermagor. The owner of the car had already reported the theft to the Italian carabinieri. The stolen car was returned to its owner on Thursday evening. The 20-year-old is reported to the Klagenfurt prosecutor’s office.
