On Monday, a serious industrial accident occurred at the Mondi paper factory in St. Gertraud near Frantschach in Carinthia, killing a 20-year-old.
An employee hired by Lavanttal became trapped between the forklift and the housing of a fan while loading the box cutting machine and suffered serious injuries. An ambulance tried to resuscitate him. But the only 20-year-old died at the scene of the accident.
Gottfried Joham, Managing Director of Mondi Frantschach: “We express our deepest condolences to the family and colleagues of the deceased. We are deeply saddened by the tragic loss of our colleague. The incident is being investigated in cooperation with the local authorities and we will take action take action based on the findings.”
