On Monday there was a hiking accident in Muggendorf (Lower Austria), in which an 11-year-old girl fell 15 meters. After first aid measures, the child was flown to the hospital.
It was supposed to be a relaxed hike: the girl walked with relatives on the Hausstein in Muggendorf and led the group in the descent around noon. She may have strayed from the actual path by following a wild trail.
Quick rescue
The child slipped and fell, feet first, 15 meters from a bluff in the Myrabach. A witness quickly rendered first aid and an ambulance was called. The eleven-year-old was rescued with a rope from the ditch after emergency medical care and flown to the state hospital in Wiener Neustadt, police said on Tuesday.
