Coach disrupts Tesla’s autopilot

Date:

Tesla likes to advertise its assistance systems that should make autonomous driving possible. But apparently the software has gaps. A horse-drawn carriage has now really upset a Tesla Y near Zurich.

There still seems to be a problem with the recognition: the video recording shows how the Tesla initially classifies the approaching vehicle as a truck, but then apparently starts to think and propose alternatives. However, there is no carriage underneath.

The fact that, unlike the competition, Tesla does not rely on radar or lidar for the object recognition of its so-called autopilot, but solely on camera vision, had already taken revenge in August last year with a low-hanging, yellowish glowing moon. As one Twitter user pointed out at the time, the system mistook the moon for a yellow traffic light — and tried to slow it down accordingly.
