“Clear pattern” – knife attack in Cologne approved: 3 months in prison

Date:

On October 17, 2015, the mayor of Cologne, Henriette Reker, was seriously injured in a knife attack. “It is a real pity that S. did not succeed in killing the National Socialist,” reads an internet commentary. Now there was the trial of the writer in Vienna – who wouldn’t have been there.

The suspect is a 48-year-old programmer with a YouTube and FB account. He pleaded innocent in court. He is often visited by computer freaks, which is why his accounts are open to guests: “But I wouldn’t really trust any of them to do such a thing!”

“Condemning crimes”
“Something like that” was – as accused – the “approval of criminal acts”. It was said that it was a real shame that the knife attack on the mayor of Cologne had failed. Or that hopefully “someone would shoot the idiot Söder” – Markus Söder is the Prime Minister of Bavaria.

“I just hope Mrs Reker and Mr Söder haven’t read this”
“Those are really nasty comments,” said the defendant, who claimed, “that there are always a lot of people with me to discuss, especially on weekends. I just hope Mrs Reker and Mr Söder haven’t read this.” They did, or their employees on social media – and then alerted the police. The “accurate,” said Judge Gerald Wagner, came to the author.

According to his verdict, he revealed a “clear pattern”: “Potential recipients or victims are always called Nazis. And that’s reflected in your other submissions, which you don’t dispute and which are almost always not too bad.” The verdict: three months probation.
