Microsleep caused a serious car accident on the southern autobahn near Wernberg (Carinthia) on Tuesday morning. A 34-year-old Georgian woman was thrown from her vehicle and seriously injured.
The 34-year-old fell asleep at Wernberg and ended up in the hard shoulder. The car hit the guardrail head-on. The force of the impact brought the car back onto the roadway and stopped with its face back.

“In the accident, the driver was thrown from the vehicle and was seriously injured,” police said. After the first emergency medical care, the 34-year-old flew to the clinic in Klagenfurt with the rescue helicopter “RK1”.
