50 Blum employees will be affected if production capacity is reduced. First of all, overtime should be reduced and time accounts should be used flexibly
The hardware manufacturer Höchst – Vorarlberg’s largest employer – is reducing production in Poland and also in the state. This is due to a surprisingly sharp drop in demand in some markets and ongoing supply chain challenges, which would have resulted in full warehouses. However, no staff reductions are currently planned.
Decreasing orders are crucial
Directors Philipp Blum and Martin Blum did not provide concrete figures on the decline in orders. After two years of above-average production volumes, they had expected a decline – but not in speed. Parts of the production capacity will initially be reduced by a maximum of 20 percent, which has consequences for around 250 employees.
