At the end of October, 319,232 people were registered as unemployed across Austria. Of these, 249,314 were unemployed and 69,918 were training at the AMS.
“So the situation on the labor market is still very good, taking seasonal developments into account. The monthly figures for October also show that the labor market is still resilient to the challenges associated with the geopolitical situation and high energy prices,” said Minister of Labor and Economy Martin Kocher in a press release.
At the end of October, 6,339 people were pre-registered for short-time working; the number of working time shorteners approved by the AMS and the actual use will be significantly lower. “Due to the continued good labor market situation and many vacancies across Austria, short-time working is currently only used selectively to get work – the level remains low in all federal states,” says Kocher.
