Called for more than 27,500 positions for state officials

The government is beginning to implement the historic public vacancies approved in recent years. Because, however surprising, the delay between the new posts in the administration approved by the Council of Ministers and the moment when the civil servant ends his fate can take several years, too many. In fact, the competitions for public service positions for the fiscal year 2019 have been launched so far, as Ministry of Finance sources have acknowledged to this newspaper.

However, the executive wants to streamline these processes and this Friday a call for public employment of more than 27,500 positions for the General State Administration (AGE) corresponding to offers approved in 2020, 2021 and 2022 was published in the Official Gazette (BOE). the next step is setting the dates of the exams and publishing the list of admitted candidates, although it may take some time as there is a deadline to resolve these calls until the end of 2024. After that, the position of the official will often it can also take months.

Specifically, the number of called places made available to interested parties is 27,509. Of these, 13,157 correspond to the General Administrative Corps; another 6,474 are concentrated in the State Civil Administration Management Corps; and another 4,086 for the General Auxiliary Corps.

The field of technology is also present in the offering, as it includes 2,352 for the AGE’s Corps of Auxiliary IT Technicians and another 1,440 for access to the administration’s IT and Systems Management Corps. Of all, 2,088 are reserved for the quota of people with disabilities, 7.6% of the total showing commitment to people with functional diversity and commitment to their work integration.

The calls are divided into 12 selective processes through which it will be possible to access subgroups A2, C1 and C2. In it will be implemented the changes to the tests designed by the Secretary of State for Public Functions, with which the Ministry headed by María Jesús Montero will promote the updating of the model of access to public employment in all its phases. The aim is to attract talent to the administrations to guarantee citizens the smooth running of public services.

This model takes into account the strategic orientations and projects included in the document ‘Orientations for change in hiring cases’, to streamline selection processes and promote equal opportunity in access to government employment. In addition, it includes the advances included in Royal Decree 407/2022 of May 24, approving the public employment offer for the year 2022, which contains explicit measures to accelerate the selection processes.
