The reason for this was the enormous price increases on the market as a result of the war in Ukraine. This led to a rush of customers at the state energy giants Wien Energie, EVN, Energie AG, Kelag & Co. Recently, however, wholesale prices have fallen somewhat, especially for gas (chart).
