Price comparison – Easter is coming: refueling is now more expensive again!

Date:

Easter weekend is just around the corner – and many Austrians use the time to travel or visit family. Mineral oil managers are rubbing their hands again, but turnover is up sharply. Due to the oil price and the Easter holiday, fuel prices are now rising again.

Like the Amen in prayer, prices go up every year – including this year. Gasoline has risen by an average of 4 cents and diesel by one cent compared to the previous week. This time, however, the companies are not taking any money. Surprisingly, Saudi Arabia announced that it would cut production by 1 million barrels per day. As a result, Brent rose about 5% to over $84 a barrel.

Diesel again cheaper than Super
For the first time in nine months, however, diesel is one cent cheaper than Super (1,608 euros) with an average of 1,598 euros per liter, the ÖAMTC reports. Nevertheless, motorists paid an average of 19 cents (petrol) or 23 cents for diesel more than a year ago.

Price comparison pays off
However, with a price comparison you can save a lot, as a look at the fuel price calculator (spritpreisrechner.at) shows. Diesel cost from 1,529 euros on Wednesday in the early afternoon at the cheapest stations in the country, Super was even available in Enns for 1,458 euros (see chart below).

Neighboring countries cheaper
In some neighboring countries it is even cheaper. ÖAMTC expert Martin Grasslober knows that anyone who leaves for Slovenia or Croatia with a petrol engine must refuel there. In the case of diesel, this also applies to Hungary, Slovakia and the Czech Republic. In all other countries it is usually more expensive than here.
