We are very familiar with Vienna’s trams as our daily companions. Few people know that the environmentally friendly rail vehicles are also produced in the federal capital.
In the Alstom factory, 796 employees not only produce ‘our trams’, but also low-floor trams for numerous other cities. One of these models – equipped with surfboard holders – even drives on the east coast of Australia.
According to studies, Vienna’s public transport network is one of the most efficient in the world. Every day about two million passengers are transported from A to B on 28 different lines. Everyone has an opinion about “public transport”. But the fact is that no one wants to miss them.
