Real estate juggler René Benko loses his yacht and his private jet. The lease aircraft is currently for sale. According to an insider, the Signa founder wants 19 million euros for it, because part of the money still has to be used to pay the lease.
However, in the documents of the Laura Private Foundation, which was founded by Benko and his mother, the private jet was only valued at 16 million euros. The aircraft is a Bombardier Global Express with the registration OE-IRB. The details were already mentioned in a sales project in mid-March.
Must be sold discreetly
According to the news magazine Spiegel, the private jet will be sold discreetly. A private foundation company had previously sold the 62-meter yacht “Rom”. This yielded 25 million euros.
However, neither Benko nor the foundation’s beneficiaries currently have access to the money, the report said: Due to the ongoing investigation, banks should refuse to transfer the money to and from accounts associated with Benko or the family foundations. But a lawyer said the money had been “properly” credited to the seller’s account.
