The Tyrolean AK president Erwin Zangerl is fed up: “The increases must be controlled!”, he demands and is filing a new lawsuit against the state energy supplier Tiwag.
After several attempts by the AK to convince Tiwag to give in to its information and pricing policy, the judge will now have to decide due to the lack of insight from Tiwag’s board. Specifically, it concerns the information letter from Tiwag about the enormous price increases for existing contracts. From the point of view of the AK Tirol, the necessary full transparency is lacking. The lawsuit therefore only affects the old contracts, but not the new contracts, which are significantly cheaper due to the bonus awarded.
‘Now judges are going to clarify’
“Now the courts will clarify whether Tiwag’s information is sufficient and whether consumers are able to understand the pricing policy and terms and conditions and whether all legal requirements for a price increase have been met,” said AK president Erwin Zangerl. . He has serious doubts: “The information from Tiwag is not only confusing and does not really explain why the prices should be adjusted in this way, but also does not meet all legal requirements for a price increase!”
He also believes that the increase in the electricity price in the existing contracts was not necessary at all. The lawsuit will tell!
